David's work is concerned with the production, positioning and reception of art, and embraces drawing as the centre of an activity which often employs obsolete materials and processes. His anachronistic drawing style often includes densely scrawled, speech-bubbled text, tossing around conflicting critical theory. His self-published meta-fanzine 'Stellar' dedicated each issue to a star of the art world (Raymond Pettibon, Mark Titchner, Gavin Wade, etc.) through re-drawing their surrounding press and press releases. 'Stellar' sat somewhere between love letter and death threat.
