Simon was writer-in-residence in 2000. He worked on a publication on the history of Grizedale Hall and in particular its use as a prisoner of war camp. The book ‘They Call It ‘U-Boat Hotel’’ is available to buy online from our shop.
He is the author of several books, including ‘My Elvis Blackout’ (2000), ‘Twilight Time’ (2004) and ‘Neverland’ (2009), and is a contributor to the John Ruskin Memorial Blog.
At Grizedale Simon caught a lot of pike but wouldn’t kill them.
