Festival of Lying - Contributors

	Ralph Spours (estate agent and compere for the day) gave our opening welcome
The Oldest and the Largest Fulfillment Organisation in the World - Tim Wright and Rob Bevan explored internet hoaxing.
	Rob Irving, (artist, writer and crop circle maker) was going to present an illustrated talk exploring art and artifice (!) on the day he 'free-ranged' with Ralph around these themes.
We showed Maurice Grosse interviewed on video by Anna Best and Rupert Carey about the case of the Enfield Poltergeist.
	Dr Richard Wiseman (Psychologist and Academic, University of Herts) sent us video documentation of the Psychology Department's research on lying and behaviour.
Pamela Schlatterer, (journalist and news correspondent for RTL Television) joined the Festival through a live link from London.
	Peter Lamont (Researcher at the University of Edinburgh) described and demonstrated some of the techniques used by magicians and fake psychics.
Jon Ronson (journalist and writer) read from his new book 'Them - Adventures with Extremists' about David Icke and conspiracy theory in the USA.
	Jon followed this by chairing our panel discussion with: (from the left) Ralph Spours, Peter Lamont, Rob Bevan, Jon Ronson (chair), Mark Wallinger, Rob Irving, Tim Wright and Graham Prest (Forestry Commission).
The Evening Session was introduced by Dave Bushell (Elvis)
	Finally Ralph Spours introduced the evening's highlight - 'our' four Cumbrian Liars premiering their specially commissioned lies:
Jimmy Mason kicked off the proceedings with his lie based on information sent to him by Karen Guthrie.
	Next came Clifford Atkinson lying about Simon Poulter and grizedale beasties.
Howard Christie continued with a lie based as much on Wasdale and Artists as the lakeland information Nina Pope had sent him.
	The evening ended with John Graham recounting Anna Best's Northern Adventure.
